About Us
Books for pleasure while lying in the sun,
Books to help you get your project done,
Books for learning, work and fun,
Books at home or books on the run!
If you need books, then you need Bookwormers!

Imagine an online book store where you can buy new and used books, an online bookstore that is also a book exchange, an online bookstore that only lists what is in stock so no more of those long waits, imagine an online bookstore that places a strong emphasis on customer service…well actually, you don't need to because we already have and that's how Bookwormers was born!
Welcome to Bookwormers- the family owned and friendly book business. We are located in Warkworth, New Zealand, at the River View Plaza, over-looking the beautiful Mahurangi River.
Bookwormers was started in January 2008 and has been growing steadily since. The founders of Bookwormers have a great passion for books and with their years of industry and business experience they decided to start up this company. The main drive behind the website was realising the gap in the market for an online book store that still offers the customer service aspects that many of the big corporate websites are now lacking in.
On our shelves you will find quality new and used books. We have a great variety of genres in our fiction section and a huge range of non-fiction books. Our young readers section is full of fun and exciting reads for kids of all ages and our teenage section is steadily growing. Due to the huge demand we have a great section we call Mind, Body & Spirit - this section covers many religions, spiritual development, natural health, self-help, motivational books and much more! The other area we are very proud of is our New Zealand section. This is a great range of fiction and non-fiction books about New Zealand and books by New Zealanders.
What ever the reason you need a book we will have something here for you and with our 100% satisfaction guarantee you can't go wrong.
Now meet the team:
Helen and Jarrod

Full of energy, drive and a touch of crazy!
Helen and Jarrod moved to Warkworth in July of 2006. They bought a 10 acre block of mostly native bush with stunning views of the Kaipara Harbour's rugged West Coast. With just a blank canvas at the moment there are plans afoot for putting in a small organic orchard, vegetable garden, a home and all sorts of other wholesome adventures.
They met at high school in 1996 and were married in 2006 (good things take time).
Jarrod is an electrical and refrigeration engineer with a passion for moto x and a flair for writing. Jarrod is the manager of a successful electrical company but plays an important role in the strategic planning of the business. Helen has 10 years experience in the automotive industry, starting on the tools but eventually moving into the business side of the industry. She is now completing a Diploma in Business Management and finding her niche in the business world. She is very excited to be able to combine this with her passion for reading and books. Helen works full time in the business and can't wait to meet all the fellow book lovers out there.
Glenda and Terry

Full of life and more than a touch of crazy!
Glenda and Terry moved to Warkworth after spending 2 years in Tanzania, Africa volunteering for Volunteer Services Abroad (VSA). This project involved helping Huruma Hospital, which is located at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro; transfer all their systems from paper files to a computer network.
Once they have settled they are hoping to buy a large block of land so they can run beef cattle and have room to grow all their own organic fruit and vegetables. Terry has a very interesting history of jobs, including being a meat inspector, IRD tax collector, a policeman and is now a very experienced management accountant. This experience means he takes care of the financial management of the business. Glenda has been a nurse, is a fully qualified medical herbalist (previously owning her own herbal dispensary), and also following her passion of books, previously owned the very successful Tauranga Book Exchange for many years. Glenda's industry experience is put to good use with the operational management and book-buying aspects of the business.
Eco Friendly

We don't claim to be perfect (yet) but one thing we are constantly working on is minimising the environmental impact incurred from running our business.
Some of the things we are doing so far include:
· Only use eco-friendly cleaning products
· Recycle all recyclable materials
· Where available we only purchase materials made from recycled materials or are the most eco-friendly choice we can find
· Sell quality used books to reduce wastage
· Have a book-exchange so books are re-used
· To keep our books at optimum temperature and humidity conditions we use a heat pump which is the most energy efficient method available.
We are always looking for more environmentally friendly business practices so would love to hear from you if you have any ideas that we can try!
